Stupid Snow

Right on schedule, I'm officially disgusted with winter. I start to resent it in January, but by Valentine's Day I AM DONE. Bring on the Spring. Please.

I've replaced the term "cabin fever" with the much more honest term of "bored." I am bored of staying inside. I did go to the trouble of procuring snow-wear for the girls, but Little Lamb can only last 15-20 minutes max outside and with her recently recovering from RSV...I'm just not feeling excited about playing in the snow.

So we've been scouting out other indoor play activities and I've decided to not feel guilty about spending a little money here and there for admission fees. Our collective sanity has improved tremendously since adopting this new method of operation.

I am so ready for sunshine, digging in the dirt, growing sunflowers, going on hikes and getting a sunburn! Mittens and boots are SO December 2008.

  1. I'm bored too! I'm glad I'm not the only one. We're a one-car family and Mr. M has been taking it a lot lately to work because it's been snowy, and we're stuck! Not only am I bored, but I can tell Red Chief's bored too.

I have one hopeful bulb sticking a bud out; it's been there, not moving, for a week. I'll be so happy when it finally blooms.

  2. I so totally agree!! We just had a really nice day yesterday with temp at 55 and most of the snow melting. Now we're being told more snow to come. Fine with me as long as it it soft and fluffy so the kids can once again play in it.

  3. Greenhouse trips. MAN I've been craving a greenhouse trip.

  4. Oh, Mrs. reminded me of the one car days. I could still do it, should the need arise; but I am so thankful that I don't have to anymore. Those were sweet days though, just Emily and me. We ate a lot of popcorn and watched "Lady and the Tramp" a lot because that's what she wanted to do. *sigh* I never thought I'd look back on that and wish to have it back. The boring days were tough. I think that's what has helped her become a craft fanatic--it was the only way I could keep her from pulling her hair out.

    Hi Karie!

A greenhouse visit would be nice...if only for the warm humidity. I'm so desperate for warmth that I was trying to plan a spur-of-the-moment trip to St. George. And I was very excited about it. I just can't shell out all that money for lodging if it's not a need. *sad sigh* All the more reason for warm weather to get its little behind on over here...we'll sleep in a tent. Ha ha.

  5. I have a list of things to do out of the house that are FREE! You will need to come up with some gas money for some of them, but I have created quite a list in the course of my mothering.

Comments make me happy! Thanks for sharing!
